Who didn’t love Night at the Museum? Teddy Roosevelt and T-Rex won’t be coming to life but the whole family is in for a rare behind the scenes experience at the Surrey Museum. Make Doors Open yours with one of the many activities or even a guided tour of the collections vault.
- Engage with The Re-Enactors heritage re-enactment troupe as they tell Surrey's true stories.
- Dress in real fire fighter gear and climb aboard our 1972 fire truck.
- Make crafts like kids from yesteryear or go crafty green
- Play in the fully interactive Kids Gallery
- Listen to old time live fiddle and accordion music at 10:15 & 11:45
- Watch fibre arts demonstrations
- Taste the favourites of foodies long ago
Behind the Scenes Tour
Interested in rare artifacts, vintage clothing, early technology, archaeology…? The history gallery displays a fraction of what sits in our collections vault. Join a Curator-led tour to not only see the artifacts but hear their stories. Surrey’s history is at your fingertips!
